Bloody Sunday; Yum!

Sunday Funday!

Filthy’s Pubbery, located off 16th Street just east of U.S. Hwy. 1. For more than a year, this innovative establishment has been offering locals and visitors alike a creative Bloody Mary experience.

Patrons are given a clipboard to mark down each of their many options, starting with drink size and preferred vodka. Filthy’s even offers one that’s Bloody Mary-infused (my personal favorite).

Next, guests pick which mix they want, including homemade and clamato (a tomato and clam juice combination). There are the spices to add: horseradish, Worcestershire, Sriracha or Tabasco. Then the real fun begins: their garnishments – more like mini appetizers – which are served on shish kebob spears that accent each drink.

The selections includes favorites such as celery, pickled asparagus and bleu cheese-stuffed olives, or unusual savory must-haves such as meatballs baked in red sauce, White Castle burgers or a Caprese salad on a stick, drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Other fun food choices are seasoned shrimp, Slim Jims, kielbasa or cheese sticks. Finally, guests choose their rim from a selection that includes salt and pepper or Old Bay.

In a word, “addicting.”

“One of the coolest things about people’s view on our Bloody’s here are that they love them so much they are sharing the pictures of their crazy drinks with others throughout the world,” said co-owner Angela Novak as her husband and partner, Nick, grabbed a fresh stack of clipboards for thirsty guests. These awesome concoctions are available only on Sundays, from 11 a.m. until the fixings run out.

Got to love Bloody Sundays!
